Fashion forges ahead: recently ended the shows with the presentation of 2016 Resort collections. Let us remember that these will be available for sell in winter, and as the name says, are meant for holiday travel. That is why Resort collections are always rich in bright prints and are mainly consisting of light clothing, such as soft sundresses and blouses with palazzo pants. How designers see the perfect image for a cruise now? We will talk about the most remarkable 2016 Resort collections.

Christopher Kane

Christopher Kane, one of the most ideological designers of our times, can create commercial clothes as it does not look commercial at all. In his last collection, the British designer shows shirts and skirts with leopard print in unusual color shades – red and blue, complement them with dress shirts in neon colors with lace and ends with shorts and jeans with big floral applications. For most girls, such things like leopard print, lace body shirts and shorts with flowers are signs of bad taste, that is what Kane appeals for. He quoted his mentor, the late Louise Wilson: “There’s no such thing as bad taste, It’s just different.”

Gucci

A week ago, after his men’s collections, having a big vogue in Paris and Milan, it is extremely clear one thing: the 70’s are coming back. Gucci is a brand from which we have to learn about the modern interpretation of this style, a brand that in the 70’s developed with an impressive pace (a proof of that is the opening of a boutiques in Beverly Hills and Tokyo and Rita Hayward’s love). Frida Giannini, is another confirmation of that. The Italian designer combines mint blouses and Flora print midi-skirts with python stocking-boots, while the double-breasted jacket – with a striped jumper, narrow beige trousers and loafers in metallic colors. Pay attention to an important accessory: silk scarf tied around the neck in most of the outfits.

J.W. Anderson

Perhaps the British J.W. Anderson is avant-garde’s last hope. He became famous for playing with gender differences: he dresses women in men’s clothes, and vice versa. In the new resort collection, he applies the same technique. He suggests wearing bulky jackets with cut-outs on the front gore with midi asexual skirts and shoes on a massive flat-sole, while the deaf shirts with low waist baggy pants. There are also more familiar things – cropped tops and mini skirts as well as lacteous trench with cross appliqués in the front. By the way, while the last sophisticated fashionistas gather money for his collections that can be found in “Kuznetsk Bridge 20”, the whole world is watching how this young man changes the shape of a lightly dusted Spanish brand, named Loewe.

Lanvin

Alber Elbaz is an expert of the female body and it just happens that this pretty heavy man knows what women want and how to emphasize their beauty. His new collection is another confirmation. Ideal evening suits and dresses for special dinners on the beach is worth looking at Lanvin.

Lisa Marie Fernandez

The collection of neoprene swim-wear by Lisa Marie Fernandez is loved and appreciated by Nicole Richie, Rihanna and Miley Cyrus. In the new season, she decided to go ahead and launched a line of clothing for sport and recreation. She adds to the old friend, the swim-wear, body and leggings, as well as simple dresses and skirts. The cut is minimalistic, the colors are pastel. The formula is pretty simple, but now girls find extremely difficult to do that.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

The second collection of Marc Jacobs is now managed by Luella Bartley and Kate Hillier. According to the unanimous opinion of critics, they managed to raise the brand to a new level only for a season. The new collection of the two girls comes from an unusual source of inspiration – female astronauts from the Mercury Group 13, which proved to the world that the weaker sex also can be tested for endurance and fly into space. Hence the cosmic prints on long shirts and trousers with high waist and oblique dress with bandages. In the Lookbook of the collection starred Anastasia Wall, which look equally good in a denim jumpsuit and a pleated dress.

MSGM

The Italian fashion is experiencing a renaissance, and one of the major players here is Massimo Giorgetti. His brand has a huge popularity among buyers, among them are also Moscow shops such as Rehab Shop and CUM. Giorgetti makes simple clothes with Italian vivid details. Thus, shirt-dresses he decorates with plastic flowers appliqué, t-shirts and shorts with large tropical prints, loafers with crystals. In his resort collection can be seen the classic MSGM, as well as new prints such as pineapples, geometry and checks.

Mugler

David Koma is one of the most successful designers from the CIS. He creates the brand, under which he even produces a collaboration with Topshop, and now he is also the creative director at Mugler, entrusted him after the departure of Nicola Formichetti in Diesel. Already from the first collection is clear that Coma is resolute: he does not started to study the archives of the brand but created a whole new image of the Mugler girl. She becomes more refined and elegant: she is wearing white suits, as if these were meant for everyday, but at the same time elegant, changes them with cocktail dresses with inserts of a metal Mugler chain, she can wear transparent sweatshirts with a maxi skirt. We are sure that his strategy will be loved more by buyers than the immodest outfits by Nicola Formichetti, showed by his best friend, Lady Gaga.

Versace

Perhaps the stylistic codes of the Italian house Versace lie best on a simple cut. The new collection with Swarovski crystal appliques and bright prints of Gianni Versace era appear on dresses and mini-trapeze coats in the spirit of the 1960s, inspired by the current brand designer Donatella Versace.  Perhaps in this collection you can find cocktail and evening outfits: here are two-colored slinky mini dresses and floor length black dresses with plunging necklines. And, of course, the gladiator sandals made of reptile skin in pastel shades.

Dior

One of the major fashion brands, showing collections far from his homeland, Paris, became Dior. Raf Simons did not stop at exotics and fly away where is warmer, but moved his show in Brooklyn, New York, where recently ventured to make the show the ambitious Alexander Wang. The collection has been created based on square-shawls, of which the Belgian minimalist created dresses, tops and skirts – all, of course, with prints. All this splendor was admired in the first row by the guys from Proenza Schouler, Rihanna and Maggie Ruth Gyllenhaal.

Chanel

Each season, the Chanel house show resort collections out of the homeland, Paris. Now the location was Dubai. The guests gathered in a huge tent pole, sitting on pillows, while models were walking on the white sand. The collection was inspired by the Arabic culture: it is full with intricate rich embroideries, long dresses on top of loose pants and completely white outfits.

Louis Vuitton

The Resort season of Louis Vuitton presented several premieres at ones. First of all, the brand did not present fashion shows offseason, and secondly, this is the first show outside old Paris: the location was chosen Monaco. The new designer of the brand, Nicolas Ghesquiere, gets inspired by Monaco “Formula 1”. On shirt-dresses, blouses and tulip-skirts can be noted prints with cars and markings. Among the iconic things can be seen mono-print suits and suits in pastel shades, like lemon and pink.
