Judging by new seasonal collections, autumn and winter promises to be colorful, so it’s important to be able to make a universal, but at the same time beautiful and attracting attention (in the best sense of the word), make-up that will be suitable for your outfit, whatever fancy experiment you will want to do. The Lebanese designer Elie Saab suggests that this option of makeup was the smoky eyes. Haze on the lids fit, perhaps all, and changing the intensity of eyeshadows application, you can “tweak» smoky eyes for any occasion, be it a meeting, a date, a party or something else.
Step 1: preparing the skin tone
An integral part of any makeup is a smooth and natural skin tone. In order to have a perfect application of the correction product, prepare your skin for applying it with your usual day cream. Given that you have to create smoky eyes, make a choice in favor of a face foundation, that gives the skin a matte finish. If there is redness on the face, inflammation, and other imperfections, use a concealer. But do not mask the dark circles under the eyes, if you have them because when you will apply the eyeshadows, it is likely that the particles of colored powder will fall just under the lower eyelid. To further facilitate their removal or masking, leave the concealer for a later stage. Underline the cheekbones and revitalize the complexion with a rosy blush in brown midtone.
Step 2: creating smoky eyes
On the backstage of Elie Saab show, makeup artists used gray eyeshadows with an expressive blue-green. The moky eyes obtained was in one color only – there were no light shade in the inner corner of the eye. Before proceeding to the repetition of eye makeup, apply on the lids a special primer that will provide durability to the applied colors. Then, with a flat brush, take sufficient amount of eyeshadows and apply them along the contour of the upper eyelid, as if you were drawing an arrow. Then distribute the eyeshadows on the entire surface of the eyelid, so that the color intensity diminished closer to the eyebrows. With this technique you will be able to get a coveted smoke, and if you want it to be rich and vibrant, apply wet shadow by wetting the brush in water. Do not forget the lower eyelid – apply eyeshadows on it as well. After that, take a lengthening black mascara and apply it on the lashes in several layers. This will make the eyes look more open and the makeup more spectacular.
Step 3: final touches
Although the main focus of this makeup are bright eyes, it is not necessary to leave the lips without attention. A transparent or pink lip gloss is quite suitable to complete the image. Instead of it, you can use an ordinary lip balm – it will give them a light sheen and also take care of the skin of the lips during the cold season.
