The creative Director for Dior Makeup, Peter Phillips, has once again proved that a makeup artist must be a creative person, a kind of artist. Therefore, creating a podium makeup, he uses not only one cosmetic product. Neat wings in pastel shades on the eyelids of models – is the result of hard, long hours of work with delicate satin fabric from which Phillips cut small “half moons” in the form of the ciliary contour. They replaced the eyeliner for the creation of beauty looks for Christian Dior show. This non-standard technique invented by him, is used by the artist at the first opportunity. On the recent Fendi show, same wings were made from blue leather, and at Dior couture show in summer, the makeup artist made the “eyeliner” from mirrored silver paper. The new variation was successful and also was liked by Raf Simons. Pastel wings harmoniously complemented the minimalist look, so adored by the fashion designer. Simple and concise makeup and elementary hairstyle – Guido Palau gave the model’s hair to dry naturally and left them loose – this is the modern French style in the understanding of Dior.

Balmain

Imagine a “glossy” picture: an exceptional villa, beach chairs, a pool and the blinding glare of the sun on the water surface. A long legged beauty, enjoying swimming, who goes “on the land” and hides behind the glass doors of the home, then returns in a complete outfit – a dress and heels, but still with wet hair. This kind of girl imagined the stylist Sam McKnight, who decided to play an increasingly popular wet hair effect. He managed to get the desired texture by mixing hair gel and shine products, and then gradually applied the  obtained mass on thin strands. When the “processing” of the hair came to an end, the model’s hair was combed back and fixed in this position.

The makeup created by Tom Pecheux, completed the image of a carefree, sun tanned beauty. The makeup artist was inspired by the 90’s, when fashion addicted girls were abusing the tan. But the girls from Balmain show were not made fashion victims. With the help of liquid and powdery bronzer, he gave the skin a noticeable but moderate tanning effect – the master applied the product on the “perimeter” of the face, on the back of the nose. Golden shimmering eyeshadows on the eyelids added warmness to the makeup.

Lanvin

Alber Elbaz, Lanvin creative director, joined those who insist that simplicity and naturalness make woman more beautiful. The beauty looks from the last show of the brand clearly embody this conviction. Their base is a clean, smooth skin, radiant health. Other components – a small amount of eyeshadows in coffee shade applied in a soft layer, and slightly accentuated eyebrows. This modesty in makeup could supplement the restraint in hairstyles – the hair of the girls was tied in simple, not very big low beams.
