New York Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2017
The fashion marathons have already started. New York was the first fashion city, which exposed his vision on the fashion for Spring-Summer 2017 season. New York Fashion Week began on September 10 and will last until September 17. Within it, there will be dozens of fashion shows of world famous brands in the United States, including Lacoste, DKNY Herve Leger By Max Azria, Carolina Herrera, Diane Von Furstenberg, Vera Wang, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Jenny Packham, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein Collection. Meanwhile, we will make acquaintance with the first who already managed to demonstrate on the catwalks its new collections for spring-summer season.
Adam Selman Spring-Summer 2017
In the new season, Adam Selman presented a collection imbued with the spirit of freedom, so typical for the hippie culture. If we analyze the collection, then we understand from the start what style he adopts. We can see fabrics as fatin, velvet in combination with knitting and floral print coating characteristic for the warm season, sport shirts and shorts, loafers and lace boots. Minimalism is absolutely wonderful combined with avant-garde. In addition, is observed also the influence of the 70’s. The color range is also very ambiguous. The conservative monochromatic is combined with shades of red-orange, blue and coral.
Creatures of Comfort Spring-Summer 2017
Creatures of Comfort relied on the casual style, although some outfits were more in grunge style. However, the collection proved to be very light, practical and reserved. We can see intricate geometric and abstract prints, midi textiles skirts, dresses, knitted tunics, easy fit jeans and jackets, bulky coats and blouses, original applications, recalling the faces of people and smiling faces of children, long loose pants, warm knitted blouses, small and comfortable tote bags. If we talk about the range of colors, then here the focus was on faded shades, among which most often were seen shades of turquoise, green, dome, blue, brick, beige, ivory and graphite. An exception has become a deep red that designer has blurred using black color.
Creatures of the Wind
The fashion show of Creatures of the Wind started as well with the walk on the catwalk of models dressed in black and white achromatic outfits. Although, the collection that seemed somewhat conservative, was diluted with floral prints, stars, diamonds and stripes. Black and white was replaced by red and orange. It seems that the designer was rather carried away by the wave of multiple layers, recommending to wear jackets in masculine style over shirts and long tunics. From accessories we can highlight only big jewelry and tights with large mesh.
Escada Spring-Summer 2017
Escada has also appealed to the elegant 60’s and 70’s due to which brand’s fans will enjoy feminine evening and casual, practical, simple and functional outfits. Bright floral prints, juicy colors are ideal for the warm period. Admirers of warmer shades can opt to combine flawless shades of turquoise and white and shades of yellow and white. In addition, in the collection can be found outfits in shades of khaki casual as well as bronze colors lovely cocktail dresses.
Marissa Webb Spring-Summer 2017
In this collection prevail also faded colors and casual reserved outfits, a special place among them having business suits in shades of lilac, sundresses, skirts and blouses, which the designer has decorated with stylish geometric and vegetable prints. We can also notice an abundance of leather and knitwear jackets, many of which are sleeveless. Leather jackets are also worn over plaid tunics and lace skirts. Despite the unusual combinations of styles and textures, such outfits looked quite functional and even wearable. And the splash of color of the entire collections became dresses in shades of red-orange and mustard.
Ohne Titel Spring-Summer 2017
The designer duo Flora Gill and Alexa Adams have deviated a little from the usual concept in the new spring-summer season. This time, they decided to not dedicate the entire collection to painters and as a result we see a mild collection filled with fresh air, heat waves and cool freshness of the sea. It is easy to see that in the new warm season, designers wanted to highlight women’s shoulders and chest, using for this purpose the bandeau neckline, one shoulder cut and asymmetrical details and line cutting. For the most daring, designers have designed outfits created from virtually separate fringes.
Red Valentino
Red Valentino has remained true to its baby doll style dresses, girly naïve colors, cute accessories, ribbons, frills and many other items that are able to emphasize the simplicity and flexibility of a young lady. Leather skirts, bandeaus, sundresses, denim pants and overalls look most impressive. The color range is also tactfully chosen. Along with pretty pastel shades take their livelihood shades of black, crimson and fuchsia.
Tadashi Shoji
This brand has conquered the public attention from the very first appearance. And how else when in front of spectators marched models in wonderful evening and cocktail dresses. It is not new that the creations of the Japanese designer always amazes with its feminine silhouettes, elegant patterns, expensive fabrics and unordinary designer decisions. In the new season, the fashion brand presented fluffy evening dresses decorated with floral appliques and knitted belt-bows. The vaporous blue and white A-line dresses look like were specially designed for real princesses. In such outfits you can go with confidence to a prom, a wedding party and any other festive event. Casual outfits were not overlooked; designers offered mini casual options in shades of blue and green, decorated with geometric and floral prints.

As always, the designer has put again the emphasis on classic elegance. In this collection you will not find any bold experiments, neither overt sexuality, nor intrusive innovations. Such outfits are suitable in particular for those who are not running after other innovations in fashion. Women who prefer clothes designed by the brand also prefers simplicity and practicality of fabrics and silhouettes expressed through laconic and warm shades. And this time we have been made available with black and white business skirts, pants, blouses, coats, laconic stripes, beige and olive capes, trench coats, blue pink and pale bluish dresses. The collection could not miss separately fashion elements. For example, asymmetric tops were decorated with frills and drapery, cardigans were sleeveless, skirts were endowed with quite high slits and capri pants remind us more than some sails. Our attention deserves also their accessories, especially the earrings and huge pendants.
Zac Zac Posen
This time, the brand Zac Zac Posen was strove to blend the feminine Californian style with sports. As a result, we see printed gray suits with red loafers or for ex. severe business jackets with ultra mini skirts. Amazingly, but from now on, sport shoes without heels can be freely matched with extraordinary evening dresses mullet type or velvet cocktail dress in Greek style. However, if you are not prepared for such experiments, draw attention to the A-line evening dress with asymmetric hem, which traditionally was wearing with stiletto shoes. The already full of prints collection has not been filled with excessive decorative elements, although monochromatic clothes were often completed with fringe and frills.
As you could see, even on the second day of the Fashion Week, designers have given us a lot of emotions. They presented many looks, both classic and in avant-garde style. From what we have seen we can conclude that in the new 2017 spring-summer season New York opts for sporty and classic femininity in combination with pastel shades.
