Culottes have a rich history. The debut in the fashion world took place thanks to the great Elsa Schiaparelli, which in 1931 added wide short pants in her collection, especially for the Wimbledon match. The Spaniard Lili de Alvarez, tennis player and feminist, appeared in court wearing skirt-pants. The fashion Englishwomen immediately caught the trend and ordered similar pants for conventional secular events: biking and horseback riding. The triumphant comeback of culottes took place only in the 90’s, when the German designer Jil Sander showed them to one of the fashion weeks.

This season, culottes became one of the key elements in many collections. The designers Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler showed white pants, as well as made of colored suede. A novelty of the summer season are the silk pants Dries Van Noten combined with a light trench in Japanese style.

Do not know how to approach a wide three-quarter length trousers? Stand on your heels and you will immediately see a lot of options!

-An ideal option for a date is a shortened top and culottes- the open abdomen “works” not worse than the neckline. The main thing is to not forget about sports. The look can be completed with image platform sandals.

-For a walk it’s best to choose a sailor shirt and trousers in sandy shades. The strip and safari style look look great together. It’s better to choose a pair of shoes in the tone with the culottes.

-For a business meeting: a tailored vest and a satchel bag – a trendy office option. Thick heel sandals are the final accent.
