Paris Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2020

By  |

Traditionally, the fashion marathon was completed in Paris: the agitation was so great that the week’s schedule surpassed the seven-day marathon. The Paris podium has again become the most cosmopolitan: besides the French, Valentino, Off-White, Loewe and a whole range of European designers have presented their vision of trends. Not surprisingly, the week ended with the presentation of the Louis Vuitton collection dedicated to travel outside our galaxy. Let’s see what designers have given us on the podiums in France and what we should attract attention to in the new season.

Dance aesthetics

Tulle rolls, lightweight ballet shoes with ribbed belts around the ankles, tutu skirts and soft trousers gradually transferred from the stage to the wardrobe of those unrelated to dancing. If ballet is not your passion, you can choose between tango or flamenco: the “suit” of passionate dancers is no less expressive than the light outfits of fragile ballet dancers.

Prewashed jeans

Nostalgia for the 80’s reached its peak: leather trenches are already known to us, the leopard has long manifested itself in all its diversity, and it is almost impossible to imagine the fashion week without power-dressing elements – now is the row of pre-painted denim. In the past, fashionistas were forced to use bleach to get prewashed jeans. Today, designers have done everything for us, and we no longer need to play with dangerous chemicals.

Sharp shoulders

The fantasy of men’s clothing in the female closet was now expressed in the silhouette of a “reversed triangle” – by the way, borrowed from 80’s fashionistas. In the new season, the brands offer a range of oversized jackets on the waist, but the shoulder line has increased in comparison with the previous season. Looks like it’s worth remembering algebra lessons and choosing clothes with a projector: the clearer the angle is the trendier your jacket is.

One of the most mysterious colors of the dark blue spectrum will be the leader of the next season. The deep and rich colors of blue (for example, indigo with purple undertone) are already bright enough to play the main game in an image, yet in the new season, designers combine them not only with a monochrome range but also with nuances less colorful and fashionable next season. For example, Dries Van Noten combines cobalt with canary yellow, diluting them with black and white: together, these shades create a new spring palette.

Not only science fiction writers like to look in the future: Nicolas Ghesquières, creative director of Louis Vuitton, for example, dedicated his entire spring-summer collection to traveling through intergalactic and virtual worlds. In the new season, we’re looking at utopian fingerprints, alien accessories and a space suit – if you have to leave the Earth soon.

Contrast tint

Accuracy is no longer a sign of craftsmanship: the lighter it is the tint on jackets, blazers and shirts, the better. The easiest way is to decorate the white and black clothes with embroidered stitches – the contrast will be the most visible. However, you should not neglect other color combinations: combine orange with yellow, indigo with canary and fuchsia with green.

Polka Dots

The floral print can only compete with the famous polka dot. A simple and yet complex print blends perfectly with both a monochrome range and other active prints – floral, animal or geometric. That’s why we love so much the polka dot print!

Monochromatic graphics

In the new season, the opposing draws again: the white and black duet will always look great. In the spring and summer, dresses and jackets became asymmetrical, and the prints became even more psychedelic. Choose deformed geometric patterns, plaids and other tricks to fool the view and for others not to be able to look at you.

In the new season, this detail not only has a useful function and practical benefits – they link the most fashionable sneakers to the model of the mountaineering and decorative shoes, decorating elegant sandals or closing mini dresses.

Black lace and mesh

Seamless black lace dresses will surely please those who are already tired of the crochet technique. However, in the new season this will still be felt in accessories and clothing. However, women with crafty hands can put their creativity into free motion – fine lace and mesh will be of great help.
