Eclectic Resort Collection by Valentino (Spring 2016)

The Lookbook of the Italian brand is a real storehouse of casual and evening looks. The creative directors of the fashion house confess that have searched inspiration in the work and biographic life aspects of Frida Kahlo. Her individuality, uniqueness and self devotion were the basis of the new collection. Thus, appeared looks that from one side include elements from designer’s past collections, and from the other completely new looks.

Despite the fact that this is only a resort presentation, they presented 83 completed looks. Here you will see animal prints taken from the work of the artist because that was what inspired them the most when creating such colorful clothes.

There are branded butterflies without which for a long time can not do any presentation of this brand. A highlight was the revival of the rainbow print, which Valentino Garavani in the early 70’s created by himself. Stripes, zigzags, squares and rectangles of all colors come together to form an incredible canvas looking into which is like looking into a magic ball.

Let’s speak about styles…

Here, they gave vent to imagination and tried not to be limited to one or more cut options. There are different silhouette dresses, pleated and flared skirts in a trapezoid shape. Pants – straight leg cut and arrow. The width of pants varies from model to model, and some are endowed with an elastic band spanning the ankle.

The fashionable length of dresses “ankle-deep” or one palm above is quite common in this Lookbook, although there are floor length models. A distinctive feature of many outfits is the pronounced waistline. Designers preferred to focus on the elegance of the female body by using techniques such as contrasting colors, fabrics, elastic band and large seam.

Despite the fact that many trends creators decided not to abandon the bulky midi skirts in the style of the 50’s, in this brand we see the trapezoid shape, made in a similar length.

In this collection, there was a place for sports bomber jackets, which, thanks to the butterflies, used as decoration, got a very feminine look. While jackets in military style meet the needs of bold and strong-willed women.

We would like to highlight the lace, which the author proposed to put on top of plain shirts and sundresses.
Summing up, we want to note the form of dresses hem and sleeves, because there could not go without surprises. Designers complemented these clothes with a messenger bag on a long handle and a large tote bag in trapezoid shape.
