The British journalist Chris Evans has become the new host of the legendary Top Gear program instead of Jeremy Clarkson, fired because of the scandal with the producer. According to the TV channel BBC, Evans signed a contract for three years. The amount of his honorary is 3million pounds.
By the way, in a Chris morning radio show, the former host Clarkson called the fight, the scandal and the subsequent dismissal his own stupid mistake.
Famous for his passion for cars and fast driving Evans, in turn, has said that he was glad to get such a job, naming Top Gear his favorite program.
The training runs before filming the new episodes have begun. The new star of the show is taught by Clarkson personally.
Evans’ appointment has divided the fans of the program Top Gear into two camps, while his colleagues believe Chris Jeremy is a good substitute and are ready for the fact that the project will suffer significant changes.
We remind you that Clarkson’s co-hosts, James May and Richard Hammond, refused to participate in the continuation of filming without the former colleague and left the program after Jeremy.
Top Gear is the most rated show in the world. With the departure of Jeremy, BBC could lose more than $100 million in annual revenues. The last episode of the leading program will air on June 28.
